Wow! Time flies when you’re raising a family! Hard to believe so much time has passed since my last post…new goal = visit with y’all more often!
So I got creative this summer and began sewing bone neck pillows, and then blankets, and then quillows! I ended up just enjoying the craft-time so much, I made way more than I can distribute at Christmas, so I had a grand idea- I can sell them at a craft fair! I then proceeded to make even more, so I would have appropriate inventory. AND…the craft fair was two days ago. Let me tell you – folks love hearing about my life, purely for the entertainment value, so here goes! I came down with a head cold on Tuesday of last week, but was determined to push through and still do this craft fair for victory! Then, the weather predicted rain, which turned into a tropical storm (to our north; we had outer edge), but I was still determined! Then, all but one of my kids bailed on me (I was dreaming of this great family day at the fair), but luckily, the youngest stuck by mom’s side. Finally, we get to the fair, spend 2 hours setting up (in the rain), and when we finally got the tent up and everything out, we were ready – and so excited! The weather was starting to clear and things were looking up. But then, a quick gust of wind lifted my tent into the walking path (thank goodness no one was hurt!), and smashed it into several pieces. After 20 minutes of craft fair, and more than a little a financial investment, my bright idea was over.
After an afternoon of disappointment, I decided to make lemonade with the lemons of my morning, and listed my wares on Etsy (and this was not as easy as I thought either)! That was two days ago, and still no hits, but I am optimistic that this great idea will flourish! So, check back in soon, and I will post about my first sale, which surely must be right around the corner.
